How To Watch Internet On TV

By Eloise Hayes

Watching internet videos from your computer screen can be a bit inconvenient. Not only is the screen so much smaller than that of a television, but it also limits sharing the viewing experience with other people. One solution to this problem is to watch internet videos from your 17-inch computer monitor to your 37-inch television screen. Here, now, is how to watch internet on TV.

Before anything else, you first have to own the right kind of television. By that we mean that you should find one that delivers high-quality video and audio such as an LCD and Plasma TV (old tube television may no deliver as great results, thereby defeating the purpose of watching internet videos on TV) and one that allows for PC to TV connections. It's a good thing that LCD and Plasma TV are now more affordable than ever. For this reason, it is a lot easier for people now to save up for these kinds of television.

Also make sure that the television set that you choose has a VGA input so that it can act as your computer monitor. So you see, the things that you are going to need include a PC or Mac laptop computer, a digital TV, a VGA 15-pin connector cable or an S-video cable and mini to RCA audio cable, and a wireless converter.

After having everything in place, what you should do next is to use a 15-pin male to male VGA cable to connect your laptop to your television. Male to male pins are those whose pins are sticking out on both ends, thus you will need to find the female VGA input on your laptop and on your TV. If you find it difficult to use a VGA cable, then you may use an S-video cable (all television sets have an S-video input).

To fast forward things, what you should do then is to hook up the cables, with one end into your laptop and the other end into your TV set. If you are using a wireless converter, then you won't have to hook up anything. Going wireless saves spaces as your online videos get zapped to your TV.

As a final note, let me just say that the internet has always been a good friend when it comes to finding information, communicating with loved ones, and accessing different forms of entertainment like music and movies. And since watching TV from a computer screen may not be as great as watching TV from a huge TV screen, then it is important that we all learn how to watch internet on TV.
