The Sony KDL-32EX503 - A Review

By Frederick Baker

The Sony KDL-32EX503 is a new 32 inch, Bravia TV that is coming out in 2010. At about 700 pounds, it's relatively affordable. The television offers several improvements over earlier versions of this TV. Users can take advantage of settings that provide for clear, crisp and comfortable viewing.

The TV has high definition 1920x1080 native screen resolution, which means viewers can watch in full high definition clarity. This combines with MotionFlow 100hz technology that means fast moving pictures remain clear and sharp. This works well for sports and action movies.

The television offers connectivity for a variety of devices. Users can connect their TV to the internet. They can also use the TV to view their photos and plug in USB devices. This model has four HDMI inputs that work with Blu-Ray Players, Playstations and others. The television also offers parental controls.

The TV has a function that senses how much light is in the room and adjusts the picture. This ambient sensor function makes watching TV easier on the viewer's eyes. There are also four colour features for the user to choose from. The LiveColour features include settings for Off, Low, Medium and High. This allows the user to choose how they want colours to look.

The television offers sound options and functionality that make it more comfortable. It uses hidden speakers that are angled to provide optimized sound. The set makes use of S-Force Front Surround technology and these hidden speakers to provide a quality digital surround sound experience.

The television provides Eco Settings that help save power. Automatic shut off feature shuts the television off if it has not had any activity for some time. The viewer can program the TV to shut off using the sleep mode. The TV has Power Saving functionality that senses a dim room and reduces the backlighting. Again, this feature makes it more pleasant to watch TV. Finally, when used with a computer, the TV goes to stand by if the computer's signal is inactive for more than 30 seconds.

The remote's SceneSelect provides one touch options that set the TV to certain picture and sound settings. The remote can also be programmed to work with other devices as a universal remote. This means that users only need one tool to run their various devices.

The television has two built in tuners. Since the tuners are built in, TV owners don't need separate set top boxes. This is true for both the high definition tuner and the digital tuner. This is a good choice for consumers who need to make the switch to over the air digital.

The Sony KDL32EX503 is known as the KDL32EX502 in Europe and uses a different HD tuner. This tuner is called the MPEG4 AVC HD tuner. With the exception of this difference, the two models are the same.

The Sony KDL-32EX503 is 32 inches and will cost customers about 700 pounds. It uses Bravia technology. It works with a variety of devices and lets owners view their photos on their TV. The television is designed to optimize the sound and picture experience. Many customers will find this TV a good addition to their home.
