FM Modulator For My iPod

By James M. Boersma

Listening to personal music when I'm on the go is one of my favorite things in life. When I'm working out, or driving to work, it is much more enjoyable to listen to my favorite music, rather than commercial radio or silence. An iPod is so great because they can hold more music than I could have ever collected if I were buying CDs.

Portable music players have come along way since the Sony Walkman. Having the ability to walk around with our favorite music was an incredible step forward for the music industry. These days almost everyone has an mp3 player (most likely an iPod). These little devices are extremely easy to use and allow you to hold hundreds of albums in the palm of your hand. When you're in the car however, most people find that their vehicle doesn't have an easy way to hook up an iPod. Because of this, an FM modulator is a popular item for iPod owners.

Wired FM modulators are usually what people think of when you mention FM modulators. They are the type of modulator that must be permanently installed in a vehicle. This installation process is what makes a wired modulator not worth the money in my opinion. First of all, the installation will be more time and money spent if you don't have the wiring knowledge necessary to do the installation. And even when the installation is done, there is no guarantee that it will work the way you had hoped. If something goes wrong with the modulator, having it permanently installed in the dash makes the problem that much harder to address. The better option is wireless FM modulators.

Many wireless modulators have pretty poor performance unfortunately. However, the best ones can easily broadcast music over a hundred feet, which results in very high audio quality. Good FM modulators are compatible with all audio sources and can transmit on any available frequency in the public FM band. Check out this wireless modulator FM for an example of what I'm talking about.

Make sure to buy a modulator with a good reputation. You can easily do a Google search on most FM modulators to find out if other people are satisfied with their performance. Cheaper modulators will usually have really poor reputations, because they often aren't worth the box they were shipped in. The FM modulators with good feedback on sites like eBay and Amazon are the best for a reason.

Quality products will usually cost a little more, but usually end up saving you time and money in the future because there are less issues and complaints. The best wireless FM modulators will give you great performance and versatility in the car, home, office and many other locations.
