Advaned or unadvanced?

By Alexis Wright

When talking about technology, are we as advanced as we could be? I realize we've come a long way in the last five or 10 years, but is it possible we could have been to this point a long time ago?

There's a bunch of debate over how old the earth is and how long humans have been around but if our fellow man has been around for millions of years, one would figure we'd have come further than where we are.

You've gotta love the history of technology and being able to watch it unfold before us. What's not to like about the Wright Brothers inventing the first airplane or Benjamin Franklin flying a kite in the middle of a lightning storm? It'll be interesting to see where technology advances in about 100 years.

Recent technology advancements include small electronic droid spies, batteries along train tracks to save and store energy for the subway and many more. These are pretty cool.

It will be interesting to see where technology takes us in the future. Some say we'll have robots taking over our jobs? Will they fight our wars, drive our cars and fly our planes?

When it comes to technology, what are some of the things you're waiting for that we currently don't have but might one day have in the future? Maybe one day we'll have flying cars, or a holodeck along with other technological advances found in the hit sci-fi TV sho Star Trek.

Chances are, these things will never happen, at least not in our lifetime, but people probably once said that of airplanes, cars, radios and TVs.

These things helped pave the way for things that came later. Telephones helped pave the way for today's cell phones. The Wright Brothers' first plane helped pave the way for jets and other aircrafts throughout history and the invention of the TV paved the way for flat screen HD and 3D TVs.

So the question is, what will today's technology lead to and wherever that may be, should we have already been there by now?
