If you live in West Yorkshire, you should be ready for the dawn of digital TV in September 2011. Digital UK, through the assistant regional manager for the region Mr. Bill Haworth says the much awaited dawn of digital TV will finally come to pass. All analogue TV channels after 21st of September 2011 will be switched off completely hence no signals will be received. The process of switching off is very simple and any TV set, whether modern or old can be easily converted without having to purchase a new one to conform to the new changes.
If you have bought a TV set recently, you will not have to worry a lot as it comes with a built-in digital converter. However, old TV sets would need to have a converter on the side so they can start receiving digital signals after the slated date of September. Mr. Haworth is however quick to note that most people residing in the West Yorkshire region are more than ready for the switchover. He notes that nearly all households in the area have at least a TV set that is already converted to start getting digital signals.
The team behind this switchover is digital UK, which has planned to effect the changeover in two faces. The first phase will start off by switching BBC Two to digital on the 7th of September 2011, followed thereafter by the other four analogue channels. It is estimated that by the 21st day of September 2011, all the five leading analogue channels will have successfully switched off to digital signals. It therefore goes without saying that whoever would not have converted their TV sets at the time will not receive any signals whether analogue or digital, meaning they won't be able to watch any program.
Most Freeview digital channels in the region are currently in operation although they have some flaws such as Halifax where people report not to get any digital signals. Once the switchover goes on as planned, it is believed that Freeview digital service will be improved significantly and all households, even those that have never watched Freeview channels, will be able to receive digital signals.
If you normally receive your digital signals through cable or satellite you will not need to re-tune your set as the signals will start coming in automatically. For the rest, those who use aerials and freeview box will need to re-tune their TV sets on the two slated dates. Tuning and re-tuning is easy and self-explanatory and besides, there are so many resources and information centers when you can learn about the process.
Once you switch over, you will not only improve the quality of signal reception of your TV set, you will also be able to get a wider gamut of programs in which you can select from. It is because of this that the market is flooded with aerials in Leeds. Most households will be forced to have new Digital TV Aerial in Leeds in order to mark this important milestone in the digital TV age.
