Review Of The Sony Bravia KDL-40W5810

By Dwight Monroe

It appears that every few months there are new television models introduced that far surpass what has been available previously. The Sony KDL-40W5810 is one such model. It has only just been released and already it is causing waves in the digital media industry. Though it may not be classed as a budget option, the features it includes are not yet available on other TVs. It is the perfect choice for people that want the best home cinema experience.

To start with there is the ultra flat screen. It has a 1080p resolution which provides the viewer with an image that is stunningly sharp and clear. The main reason for this is the extra depth and clarity that comes with the Bravia 3 technology. If you enjoy following sports, watching movies, or playing the latest video games, then the perfection of the image will leave you completely amazed.

On many TVs the blacks and greys do not look so dark. The technology used in the Sony KDL-40W5810 allows for an enhanced contrast. Now a night sky actually looks dark. The settings can easily be controlled and altered manually or automatically so that whatever you are watching will be displayed as it has been designed to be.

Today environmental issues are always in the news. You will be glad to know that Sony has been producing more energy efficient televisions every year. Now the KDL-40W5810 uses an inbuilt control that measures the ambient light in a room and then alters the display brightness of the screen so that no extra power is used.

Perhaps you do not realise this, but most old TVs contain a number of harmful compounds. If we want our children to grow up in a world free of pollution then we should choose a TV that contains fewer chemicals. Sony place great emphasis on eradicating all toxins from their televisions and also minimizes the amount of water used in their production.

Of course having a clear picture is only half the story. A TV should be equipped with speakers that compliment the quality of the screen. The KDL-40W5810 uses the latest surround sound technology known as Advanced S Forcer that produces an excellent sound when playing video games or watching movies loaded with special effects.

If you do eventually manage to turn off the KDL-40W5810 then you can use it as a large digital photo frame. There are USB ports that you can connect any portable media device to. There are also some beautiful pictures already installed that make the best use of the display specifications.

You probably spend almost as much time checking out websites and sending email as you do actually watching TV. The Sony KDL-40W5810 allows you to carry out this activity without the need for a PC. There is no need to have both a large desktop PC and a TV when this new Sony model can offer you both facilities.

If you are after the only TV that incorporates the most advanced Sony technology and which is future perfect then there is no other choice; a Sony KDL-40W5810 will make you very happy.

What's The Samsung UE40C8000 Like?

By Gretchen Holmes

Most homes are not equipped with enough free space to take in a large television set that can benefit the demands of all family members. In the past, it would take some amount of preparation just to move a television to another area of the home, mainly because of the bulky, large boxed frame in which televisions were encased. With advanced technology of today, even the largest screened televisions are made flat and thin, like the Samsung UE40C8000, thus requiring much less space. Although the size is portable and compact, the flat screen television has not compromised quality or functionality.

It was common, years ago, for televisions to be used solely for the use of watching particular programs. Family members who wanted to play games or connect with the outside world did so by using a computer. A movie projector would be used for other tasks, like watching home movies or viewing vacation photos on a big, white screen. No matter what each family member would like to do, televisions today certainly can accommodate their every desire.

Televisions, while having a much larger screen, also have the capability of networking because they have built-in side jack components. The components allow the user to permanently plug in a computer USB cable, gaming cable, and Blu Ray cable. These elements can be permanently connected to the TV and kept discreetly in a lower shelf of the set.

With the large number of advantages that flat screen televisions brings to a home, the ability to place one anywhere, without major issues, is one of the best. The only thing that one must be concerned with is where they will place their TV that doesn't allow direct light to shine on the screen. Making this decision ahead of time, will be beneficial, especially because of automatic controls for brightness that are adjusted for proper displaying of the picture.

In the past, leaving a flat screen television powered on for a long period of time was known to cause images on the screen to burn into its pixels. This was damaging and was known as "burn in" if it occurred. This problem has been solved through many methods, however, some televisions that do not come with a automatic sensor, which turns the set off when no motion is detected within the room for a period of time. Moving pixels are one of the ways in some computers and televisions protect screens from becoming damaged through pixels that "burn in".

Flat screen televisions can be mounted on a wall very easily. There are special, heavy duty brackets, specifically designed for the television. When these brackets are mounted on the wall, they are secured to the wall stud to keep the TV in place. If you do not want to mount your television, there is a crystal or metal stand that holds the television in place on a firm surface. The stand is designed to allow the television to be directed towards whomever is watching it.

If one wants to purchase a flat screen television for their living room or family room, it is a good idea to buy a size that easily fits the area to keep it new and in good running condition. Other key qualities to keep in mind is to own a system that is sturdy and sound as well as one that automatically prevents the picture, colors or contrasts from being changed. It should also be accompanied by a remote control which is simple to use.

Although a lot of money will be put into buying a flat screen television for the family, it will be a purchase that pays off for years to come. Reliable televisions, such as the Samsung UE40C8000, will be worth more down the road, especially when a family takes good care of their investment. This can be done by mounting it correctly on a wall or placing it in a position of the room where risks are minimal. With children present who are capable of possibly damaging built in controls, a flat screen television will be preserved and like new.
